You're Two!

My Sweet Little Claire Bear,
Happy Birthday love bug! You shared your birthday with Easter this year, so your birthday celebration was celebrated on Saturday in St. George, then again on Monday once we were home! It is hard for me and your daddy to believe that you are two. You are at the most perfectly adorable age! If we could freeze time, we would. We always say this, and it is very true, that you are a little bundle of happiness. You bring so much joy, and laughter into our home. From the moment you wake up, until the moment you go to sleep you are happy. It is unusual for you to be grumpy - unless you are being teased by your sister, which is often! I look forward each morning to opening your door and having you greet me with a "Hi Mama"! I kiss your cheeks each time I get to have a squeeze - which isn't often because you are so busy. You absolutely adore and love your daddy. The feeling is mutual. You have melted his heart from the moment you were born. He is the love of your life! I hope it stays that way for a loooong time. It has been so fun to watch you discover the world. We recently went to the zoo, and you didn't stop smiling for the first half hour of being there. You are talking more and more each day. And, you are funny!! You make us all laugh. You love books, going on walks, riding your bike, you are a fabulous eater, not a great sleeper, you love our dogs, slides are your favorite at the play ground, you could be outside for 10 hours a day if I would let you, you suck your thumb, you love to watch the Animal Show on mommy and daddy's bed, you love bugs and call them all "spidas"....and so much more.
I can't even begin to tell you how much we love you. Thank you for making the last two years so happy for our little family!
We love you Claire Bear!!

Easter Morning

The Easter Bunny didn't forget about us, and made a stop to hide some eggs and our Easter Baskets at "the St. George house"!

St. George

It's hard to believe that in the 6 1/2 years we have been married, this was the first Easter we spent with Anton's family. It was SO fun. The weather was beautiful, it was fun to be with his family and grandparents, and the girls had an absolute ball. It was really cute to see Claire's love for her Grandpa and Uncle Jeremy blossom! Who would have thought?! We spent some time at the Arts Festival and the splash pad, which the girls loved, and Anton also bought some art for his office.
It was such a fun trip. We loved doing the "Easter Traditions" with Anton's family! Thanks for such a fun vacation!

The Zoo

A few weeks ago when Lilly was on Spring Break, I decided last minute one morning to take the girls to the zoo. So glad I did! It was so quiet, and the animals were so active (I am sure in part because of the cool weather). Claire in particular loved it, since she loves anything that has to do with animals. It was such a fun outing!!

Last week

I am glad last week is over and done with.
My poor Dad spent the week in the hospital because of a serious infection he came down with. I am glad he is home, and they are trying to clear up the nasty infection with antibiotics for several weeks. Then poor Claire kept tugging at her ears and acting so fussy and grumpy at the beginning of last week. I decided to take her to the doctor to see if she had an ear infection. Of course, we weren't able to see our regular doctor, but they were able to squeeze us in with someone else. Much to my surprise, they checked her ears, and they said there was so sign of infection. Fast forward two days. Screaming, sad, tired and lethargic baby with fluid coming out of her ears. Obviously at this point, I knew something was wrong. I took her right back up to the doctors...Yes, she had an ear infection, and Yes both of her eardrums had ruptured. Poor baby!! Needless to say, I was not happy about it.
We have her on Meds and she seems to be getting better each day!

My Diva Girl. I'm really emotional about this and can't believe that soon we will have to say goodbye to Diva. She is getting old, and is now on medicine to help with her quality of life. She, by all means, has not been the perfect animal...but, she loves me and is so loyal to me. She was my little companion through some of my darkest days. We have all (yes, including Anton) have been sad about the thought of  saying goodbye to Diva ...she has given us many many laughs over the years.
Love you Diva Girl!

Lilly and I both have colds now, but lets hope for a better week than last!

Finally

So, I love to cook. I especially like to bake, but I have never been good at baking cookies. You know how there are just some people who make a killer chocolate chip cookie? I have never been one of them. Anyway, I found a recipe on Pinterest that I wanted to try..
With that, I made my first batch of killer good cookies.
I made Anton be the judge, and he agreed.
My best batch yet.
Thanks to this fabulous recipe.

Lilly loved them, and was super excited to help me make them...and to eat them right out of the oven. Claire, well, she just fed hers to Diva.
