It is becoming one of our very favorite traditions to have Nana & Papa join us in Bozeman. My dad had his first of two surgeries on his hip, but that didn't hold him back at all. It meant so much to us that even though he was hobbling around on crutches and probably wasn't feeling great, he made sure they came and had fun. I am so grateful for my parents and their dedication and love.
We made sure we took them to Claire's favorite breakfast place, "Forks & Knives" (its actually called Clarks Fork, but she can't ever remember that). After breakfast we went fishing!! The girls caught SO many fish! It wasn't great weather, but it was still so much fun.
Later that night we went to a silent auction and BBQ that Elizabeth & Jurgen were involved with that helps these absolutely stunning rescued horses. They are so big, they could only fit one in the trailer. He was breathtaking! It was a fun night, and my mom ended up getting a butcher block so we got to go to see the rest of the horses when we went to pick it up! It was a fun night!
The next morning we went to church and then drove out to Virginia City. SO much fun!! I want to go back next summer. I absolutely loved it and so did the girls. It was one of the greatest "ghost towns" I have been to. I loved how they kept the stores - it truly felt like some of them hadn't been touched in over 100 years. I am so bummed I didn't get any pictures!! It was a really fun day. Later on that evening we had my parents over for dinner and games. So fun!
We went to a bear sanctuary that is just outside of Bozeman. It was really fun to see the bears wrestling around and jumping in the water. And, the girls thought the goats were pretty funny too.
Before Nana & Papa left to go home, we had to go to our favorite chicken place...Roost! It was so yummy!! We were really sad to see them go, but it was SO fun having them join us for a few days! Hope they decide to visit again next summer!
