Imagination

One of Lilly's favorite things to do while playing outside, is to go under the giant pine tree in the front corner of our neighbors yard. One day I found her under there talking with her "blankie" and "lamby". I am so glad I captured this moment.

Her smiles, which happen a lot, melt me.
Her beautiful eyes! I love them! They are the most beautiful color.
Her hair makes me laugh. It is SO straight. No curl whatsoever.And, she is starting to go through the old man stage with a comb over in the back!
The feel of her squishy little body is so comforting to me.
She sucks her thumb. When she is sucking, you can hear her in the other room!
She squints her eyes when she smiles really big.
I love how different she is from Lilly, but just as beautiful.
I am so in love with her.

A List

01. I had forgotten how fun date night can be. It had been SO long since Anton and I were able to go out on a real date. While Antons mom was in town, she graciously watched the girls for us while we went to dinner, shopping and a movie. Then, when we got home, we stayed up until 1:40 talking. I loved every second of our date night. It was so needed.

02. It was Antons birthday this week. "Happy Birfday" is what I have been hearing all week from Lilly. I have also been hearing "Can I have some chocolate cake Mama". She LOVES chocolate cake. Smart girl.

03. I am a little sad that summer is close to being over. I have loved taking my girls to the pool this summer. Lilly has come a long way since her first time swimming this season.

04. Little upset about this one. Claire hates two things. Two of which happen to be things I love. Number one...she hates the double stroller now. Ugh. It was so nice to get my workout by taking them for a jog in that. Number two...she hates to be hot. I can't blame her. Although, now it makes it a little hard when we are at the pool. She is always in the shade, and sometimes she even comes swimming with us. But, her happiness only lasts maybe 10 minutes. Then, she is ready to head home to the air conditioned house to take her nap. Oh well!

05. My cute little Granny is sick. I went yesterday to see her in the ICU, and tonight we are going to visit again before she has her open heart surgery tomorrow. Makes me so sad to think she is sick. We were driving to the Sports Mall this morning, which happens to be by Granny's house, and Lilly asked "Mama, go see Granny?". I told her granny was sick and was in the hospital. She said "Granny need a drink?". I guess she thinks if granny had a drink she would feel better. Cute thing.

06. I can not WAIT for Season 4 of Mad Men to start on Sunday. Love that show.

07. My house is in desperate need of a cleaning. And, I am on the computer. Go figure. I guess I better go!

The Difference

Lilly at 2 months & Claire at 3 months! I think it is safe to say that Claire likes to eat.

Busy Week

Over the last week, we have been doing lots of fun things to keep us busy!

*Took dinner over to Wheeler Farm on Saturday and had a picnic, then took Lilly to see the animals. Wheeler Farm is probably one of Lilly's favorite places to go.

*We go swimming at Nana & Pops house probably two or three times a week. On Monday, she finally got the guts to jump in the pool by herself. Now, she jumps in over and over and over.

*We went to go visit Granny & Gramps. Lilly has a very special relationship with Gramps. They are drawn to each other, and she talks about him all the time. I am glad I had my camera with me, because Gramps pulled out his guitar and sang to Lilly...which he doesn't do very often. It was really sweet, and a memory I will hold dear.

*We went to the zoo with our friends. Lilly liked it, Claire hated it. It was fun to be with our friends though!

*On Sunday, Lilly drew on her face with permanent red marker. She was "putting makeup on". Nice.

*Grandma Brog was up to visit Lilly for the day. Of course, Lilly LOVED having her Grandma here.

*We went to "Sneaky Sams" (my nephew Sam) swim meet at Willow Creek. So fun!

We have been busy busy busy...I love summer!

Good Look!

"Here Go Mama. Here go!!" Lilly didn't think she had enough bows in her hair, so she kept handing me more and more to put in. Such a funny little girl!

Tender

Happy 4th!

The 4th of July has always been one of my very favorite holidays! This year it was grand. On Sunday, my sister had us out for dinner, followed by delicious desserts, and a fantastic firework display which Lilly adored. After my sisters house, we got home just in time to see the fireworks at the Cottonwood Country Club go off. They are always really well done. And, of course Lilly adored those too! The following morning, my parents had a big breakfast, then afterward some played tennis, and others went swimming. So fun! I laughed so hard at my brother trying to do a back flip into the water, I almost drown. Good times. Such a fun holiday!
