Funny
Why in the world is my daughter getting up at 6:30 in the morning these days? She sits in there laughing, playing, talking, hollering, and basically having a grand ol' time! Yesterday, Anton and I found ourselves laughing so hard our bed was shaking. Listening to her in there was killing us! Anton made a good point, "what is so fun about sitting in your room, alone, in the dark, with no toys, and in a cage"? Apparently, it is REALLY fun for Lilly. So, back off.

So, with all this being said, I guess it is time to say goodbye to her precious 7:30 bedtime. I am sad to put her to bed later, for my own selfish reasons, but I would rather that than keep getting woken up at 6:30 in the morning.
She has been SO funny lately...
*She is full of personality.
*She is becoming super independent. She has to be the one to turn on and off the lights, ring the doorbell, hold the toothbrush when brushing her teeth.
*We are working on a little bit of discipline. Like, she thinks she can go in the street. Going in the street results getting a smack on the bottom from mom...which of course she HATES. But, she also thinks "No No!", is hysterically funny. We are working on that.
*She LOVES phone books. It is so weird. In fact, as I am sitting here, she is playing with one on the carpet.
*She really likes to take mommy and daddy's things and put them in special places. My toothbrush = the toilet or garbage can. Two of the three toothpaste tubes which were missing for three days = behind the TV in the entertainment center. Daddy's debit card = in her room, in a box, with all sorts of other random things. My car keys = hidden under books in the magazine rack.
*Her "temper" tantrums consist of her going limp and refusing to stand up while making a strange growling sound. You can not direct her where to go, or hold her hand or she will pull out one of her "temper" tantrums. Sometimes she has "real" temper tantrums. Those consist of throwing something, throwing herself around, turning red in the face, yelling, and me trying not to laugh.
*I have mentioned before how she loves to be outside. Now, she will go and hit the door or sit by the door until I take her outside. I love that she loves to run and play outside.
* She is loving the pumpkins right now. We bought her a pumpkin that she will use for Trick or Treating...she always plays with it, and puts all her favorite treasures in it.
*You are probably wondering why I never post any pictures. Well, that is because she can't sit still long enough for me to snap a picture. I am not exaggerating. Although, I did snap one last week when we went to Gardner Village with the cousins....

Baby
Had my first doctors appointment today. We got to see the new baby wiggling, squirming, waving, and heard its healthy little heart beat.
It was SO fun for us to see that little squirt. I could hardly contain myself. It finally made it feel real.
What a day!

Home
Today I took Lilly up to go swing and play in the rocks up at my mom and dads house. She ran around, wanted to ring the doorbell over and over, played in the rocks, played on the swings, then we went in for an unexpected lunch from my mom. I didn't plan on going over so my mom could make me lunch, we just happened to be there long enough for lunch time to roll around. I don't know what it is about being "home", but sometimes it feels so good. My mom could make me a piece of toast, and it would taste better than if I made it myself. So funny how that is. I feel so lucky to be close to my parents. I can see now, when my parents were called to be mission presidents, it was so hard on my older siblings. I love being close so they can watch Lilly grow. I love when I pull up into their driveway, Lilly smiles and knows where we are. And, I love that when I need advice or just somewhere to go to get out of the house, I can call on my mom or just head over there. But the truth of the matter is, no matter where my parents are...on a mission or just up the street...it will feel like home just being in there presence. Now, as a parent myself, I hope to provide Lilly and this new little one with that same comfort. I hope they will feel like they are "home" when they are with me and Anton. I love knowing that I can always go "home", but what I love even more is that Anton and I are creating that "home" for our little family. A place for them to get refuge from the world, a place where they will always be loved, a place where they will always be safe and a place that will always bring them comfort.

It's Official
Last night I "officially" became a Mother. I have always heard of moms being up all night long with a sick child, but had never experienced it myself. I wondered if I would ever have to go through that. Sure enough, my time came. I was up until the wee hours of the morning trying to soothe a crying, screaming, moaning, coughing, wailing, miserable teething little girl. I tried everything. Finally, I caved. Into bed with Mom and Dad. It helped her calm down enough to go back into her own room...around 4:00 am.
I need a nap.
I need a nap.

Grandma & Grandpa
Antons family was in town over the weekend. We had such a fun time with them! Lilly thought it was a party the whole time they were here. Saturday we had a full day, we had lunch, went to Wheeler Farm, up to Red Butte Gardens (so awesome), dinner, ice cream runs. In a nut shell, it was SO fun to have them here. Lilly loves her Gramma and Pompa! Hopefully we will see you soon!!

18 Months
It is hard to believe that my little buggy has gone from this...
to this...
in what seems like such a short amount of time. She is finally big enough to sit forward facing in the car, and she LOVES it! I love it too. It is so fun to be able to look back and see her cute little face. She just sits and talks to me as I drive along. I love it.
For my records, some of my favorite things she is doing now are...
*As I have mentioned before, Lilly is a chatter box. Her little voice and her little language are so adorable.
*She screams when Antons comes in the door from work. Especially if he surprises her.
*There is a rock in our front yard that is bowl shaped. She thinks it is her chair. She sits in it almost every day.
*She loves to play with stickers. She sits on my lap and we play with stickers sometimes for 45 minutes.
*"Muh"(more), "Say Who" (thank you), "Uh Oh", "BaBa", "Cow", "Mmm" (moo), "Ad Da" (all done).
*When I read Good Night Moon to her at night, she puts her little finger to either my mouth or her mouth, when I read the part, "And good night to old lady whispering Hush". I love it!
*When she is showing off, she walks around with her hands behind her back, and pushes out her belly.
*She could stay in the bath for 45 minutes if I would let her. A time or two, I have changed the water so it is nice and warm for her so she can stay in longer.
*"Throw it in the oven for Baby and me", and she throws her hands up over her head.
*I was feeding her oatmeal the other morning and I told her she had three more bites left. I started counting, "One,"and she goes "twoooo". I was SHOCKED! Of course she kept doing it then, but now I can't get her to do it for the life of me.
*She still loves to be outside, even if the weather is cold.
*Her very favorite thing at the playground is the slides. Santa might have to get one for her for Christmas.
I could go on and on. She is such a handful, and so incredibly busy, but absolutely the love of our lives. Love you Buggy!

Welcome Fall!
To bring in the fall weather yesterday...
*Lilly and I put up our Halloween decorations.
*I decided to be Betty Homemaker and make...homemade rolls, White Bean Chili, and festive cupcakes. Lilly helped stir the cupcake batter. She also helped by devouring a cupcake. She hasn't had cake since her birthday...she thought it was rather tasty!
*Got Lilly in a nice hot bubble bath and into her winter jammies...they are a little big, but oh so cozy.
*Had a little "fall" treat delivered to us by Lilly's favorite babysitter!
*Put the comforter on our bed that was put in storage for the summer. Man, I slept so good with that on.
Welcome, October! Ah, I love this month!!
