One Year Pictures

Our Darling Lilly's 1st Birthday Pictures...

When it rains....

It pours. Anton and I have been a little stressed lately, so we weren't too thrilled when we found out Antons tires had been slashed while he was hiking at Mount Olympus. Not cool.

Memorial Day

We went to St. George for Memorial Day. We had so much fun! Lilly loved seeing her Grandma, Pompa and Aunts. She was always doing her "tricks" for them, and was so happy the entire time. I think she is having a hard time adjusting from getting so much attention all weekend. Some highlights from the weekend....Going to the splash pad (Lilly's favorite) ~ Swimming ~ Going on an awesome drive on Saturday, and seeing Cedar Breaks ~ Hermes burgers and fries ~ Shakes ~ Showing Lilly off at church ~ St. George temple ~ A night alone for me and Anton ~ Delicious Sunday dinner ~ Hiking ~ Puppies ~ Walks on the golf course at night to find frogs ~ Lilly sleeping for 3 hours on the drive home ~ Seeing desert Tortoise ~ the smell of the desert rain storm ~

Swimming

Yesterday the weather was so warm and sunny, I decided to fill up Lilly's swimming pool for her. She loved it. I mean LOVED it!

Thoughts

Here are my thoughts on what has been happening with us lately...
1. I am learning to never let Lilly play by a pine tree again. She found all these little things that had fallen off the tree that were full of sap. I had a delightful time getting all the sap off of her hands, arms, legs, feet and face yesterday.
2. Apparently the word "No" is the funniest word in the English language. Lilly laughs hysterically every time I tell her "No No". Super.

3. I am learning that killing your lawn, tilling the dead grass, raking it so it is flat, trenching for new sprinklers...isn't that wonderful of a time. It is a much bigger project than we anticipated. Anton has had a huge help thanks to our awesome friend Luke. Honestly, I don't know where we would be without that guy.

4. Dog food is a really fun "toy" for someone in the house. I won't mention names.

5. The weather is absolutely beautiful today. We came home from church, ate lunch on our patio, put Lilly down for a nap, and laid outside and read our books. Pretty much a perfect day.

6. Looking forward to busting out Lilly's baby pool she got for her birthday.

7. Looking forward even more to taking Lilly to the real pool.

8. Had a hot date with my husband on Friday. Dinner and a movie. I forgot how much I love going out to movies. It was such a fun night.

9. Anton and Lilly are my favorite people in the world. No exceptions.

10. I bought Oreo's yesterday. I mention this because I NEVER buy Oreo's. Big mistake. Lizzy has eaten way too many. Anton has eaten way too many. Lilly has eaten way too many. But man, they are yummy yummy. Just look how much Lilly loves them....

First Haircut

Hi, apparently my mom thought it was time to get my hair cut. I rather liked pulling my hair down into my face....especially when I was eating. And, a lot of people said my hair looked like Donald Trump. Whats wrong with that? My mom and Nana took me to go get my hair cut, and I couldn't understand why they kept laughing at me while I was sitting in my cool pink Cadillac. The nice lady who cut my hair put on Mickey Mouse for me, so I was a good girl the whole time. Except for the time she stood in front of the TV, it made me a little upset. My mom got tears in her eyes when she saw me with my new big girl hair cut. She kept saying, "you look like a little girl, not a baby anymore". But, even with my big girl haircut, my mom and dad still say I am the most beautiful thing in the whole world.

Birthday Celebrations and Updates!

I am warning you ahead of time...this post is going to be a long one. I will start with the most important item...Lilly's Birthday! She had a wonderful birthday. The night of her birthday, we had a celebration at my mom and dad's house. She got so many fun toys (one in particular that her Papa picked out for her, that she loves loves loves), the most darling clothes (my mom had some adorable clothes sent home from England for her), a piggy bank that is the cutest thing I have ever seen, and so many people sent cards, and called to wish her a happy birthday. It was such a fun night! And, I can't forget to mention how much she loved her cupcakes. She devoured them. It was really funny. Then, last night we celebrated with just our little family of three. Her latest thing is, she loves french fries, so we went out for burgers so she could have some french fries, then we came home and opened her presents. We wanted to take her to the park, but the darn weather wouldn't cooperate. So, in a nut shell, it was a wonderful birthday! It was really sweet to see how many people remembered her on her special day. She is one lucky little lady! Here are some pictures from her celebrations...
Now it is time for some updates....

*Lilly: Well, obviously the big news is she turned one. BUT, here is some other Great Big News...the morning of her birthday (we were in St. George, so we were sleeping in the same room), I was laying in bed, and Lilly started talking like she always does in the morning. All the sudden I heard, "MaMa MaMa". I got a huge grin and rolled over to look at her, and she kept saying it. It wasn't like she was just saying the word, it was like she knew what she was saying. My heart melted. ANOTHER Great Big Piece of News is....she is crawling!!! Holy smokes, my life is going to change rather quickly now. The day after her birthday I was on the phone with Anton. I was telling him how she loves this toy she got from my dad, and how she has learned to put the toys in the right holes etc. One of the balls rolled away from her, and there she went....chasing right after it. I freaked out, "Anton! She is crawling. No Way!!". Later that night, he witnessed it for himself. Way to go Lilly! I took her to the doctor for her one year check up this week. She only weighs 17 lbs. and is 25 inches tall. So, she is in the 5% for weight, and 20th% for height. She is a shrimp! Even though she is small, the doctor was really happy with where she was at. Sounds like good news to me!
*Anton: I am so lucky to have such an honest, good, hardworking man for a husband. He has worked so hard at work, and he has reason to be proud of where he is at, and where he is headed. I just feel so lucky to have him. Now that the weather is warming up, he has been working on our yard quite a bit. I gotta tell you, when we moved in, our yard was a dump. Anton has really improved the yard. Last weekend, he ripped out a big concrete pad in our backyard, and planted two big planted boxes for a garden. I am really excited! The next project...the lawn. We are killing off the grass in our front yard, so we can put in new grass. So, at the moment, we are "those kind of neighbors". I can't wait for the new lawn up front. I think it will look great!
*Lizzy: I don't have much to report really. I went to St.George with my mom and sister last weekend. It was a very last minute trip. "Liz, we are going to St. George. Are you sure you don't want to come? We are leaving in a half hour". I quickly packed up our bags, and Lilly and I were off to The George! It was so much fun. Lilly loved the park with the water fountains and stream. I can't wait to take her back there over Memorial Day. And, I mentioned in a post a while back that I wanted to sew something. I made Lilly a special dress for her birthday. It turned out darling. Any person who sews regularly would see my mistakes, but I was proud at how it turned out. It was fun too! Now, I must think of what to sew next!
Life couldn't get much better!
