Today...
Today was a good day. No, today was a wonderful day. I was reminded of how many sweet and amazing people I have in my life...
* My dear dear friend Megan just dropped the most delicious dinner off for my little family. Just because. How sweet and thoughtful is that? I am so happy she is back from California. I missed her.
* I got a note in my mailbox that made me cry. It was from one of my young women. It was a note to tell me how much she loved me and how much she looked up to me. Honestly one of the sweetest notes I have ever received in my life. Mind you, this is the same young woman, who had a bunch of pictures she had taken of Lilly, framed and wrapped up to give to ME on Lilly's birthday. I am just in awe of how adorable she is. I can only hope that one day Lilly will be like her.

Summer
I love summer. Every thing about it. Our house is silent, dogs are lounging, Lilly is sound asleep, and I'm sitting at the computer with a nice cold diet coke, listening to the air conditioning. I love summer so much, that I actually love the sound when the air conditioning kicks on! Every day this week, Lilly has been able to play in the water. Whether it is playing in the back yard in her pool, or going up to my mom & dads pool...she has definitely been having some summer fun. I pack a lunch and treats, and we are off. It makes for such a fun day. She has been feeling a little under the weather lately, so taking her for a dip in the pool has helped her fever go down, and has really helped to cheer her up a little bit. Plus, it is nice for me because....
we get a little less of this....
and a little more of this....
The pool wears this little one right out!
Ahhh, I love summertime!

Another fabulous trip...
Just got back from another fabulous St. George trip! Some highlights....

*Realizing Lilly had molars. Who knew?!
*Toroweap. Absolutely one of the most amazing places I have seen. SO glad we went. (It is an overlook of the Grand Canyon....and no, it does not have guard rails. creepy.)
*Watching Lilly with her cousins. She had such a grand time!
*"Deb, they don't want you in their picture!". My mother in law makes me laugh so hard. I love her.
*Talking with Nicole & Jeremy until 2 in the morning. I can't believe I actually made it past 10:30.
*Believe it or not, the drive. I love being able to sit and talk Antons ear off for 4-5 hours straight.
*Meeting up with Anna & John...always have a fun time talking with them.
It was too short of a trip...but it was so fun! I love our trips to St. George!

Happy Fathers Day
Happy Fathers Day to all the amazing men in my life. I don't have words to describe how much I adore and love my dad. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have a Dad like him. And, I am not exaggerating!!
And, to Anton. It melts my heart to see you with your "buggy". I couldn't possibly ask for a more adoring, funny, tender hearted, good, supportive and loving father to Lilly. What a lucky little girl to have you as her daddy. She loves you so much! How could she not?!

3. My "America's Test Kitchen, Family Cookbook" that Anton gave me for Mothers Day.
4. Lilly. Every single thing about her.
5. Anton.
6. Diet Coke. When 4:00 rolls around, an ice cold diet coke is pure joy.
7. Red Mango. Oh how I love Red Mango.
8. My parents. (they might be the most generous people I know)
9. My dogs.
10. The book I am reading..."Man Hunt". Oh wow. I can't put it down. And, I just finished an amazing book. "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn". I now know why that book is a classic. Absolutely loved it.

Another Brog Update
Miss Lilly is turning into trouble. Trouble I tell you! And, mommy is turning into a grumpy old witch...just ask my husband! What was I thinking when I thought "oh, it will be so much easier when she can crawl and entertain herself". I wasn't thinking the entertainment would be digging in the plants and eating the dirt, slamming her fingers in the desk drawers 20 times a day, throwing dog food all over the kitchen floor, taking off her diaper during naps, pulling on Diva's hair, unloading the books that I just put back, feeding the dogs her lunch, throwing temper tantrums...you get the point. So, mommy is a little tired...worn out...stressed out...and did I mention tired? Anton has been in Chicago for work, and I am sure that is another reason I feel so tired. My partner in crime is missing. Having him gone has made me realize just how much he helps me with Lilly. During the week when 5:00 rolls around, I feel such a sense of relief knowing he is on his way home from work. I feel very fortunate to have a husband to help me parent. I would feel so overwhelmed without him. On a different note, having him gone has been fun for one reason....girl movies! I have watched a bunch of movies I have been wanting to see, but never wanted to put Anton through the pain and agony of having to sit through them. My dad, brother-in-law, and Anton are all in Chicago together for business, and my 12 year old niece is obsessed with Twilight (I have never seen anything quite like it)...sooo we thought it would be appropriate to have a girls night and watch Twilight! Even my cute Granny J came to join in on the fun. I must admit, I liked it a whole lot better than I thought. Still not sure about his pale skin and red lips though...little creepy if you ask me. Anyway, for tonight I have a special dinner cooking for myself (one that Anton isn't particularly fond of), and once Lilly is down for the night, I am going to cuddle up on the couch and watch another girl movie. Wish me luck as I am trying to adjust to this new busy little phase Lilly is in - which I am fully aware will last for a long time!
