The morning after my parents left, we packed up the car and headed North to Polson, Kalispell & Glacier National Park area. You would have never guessed it was June, because it was cold! I didn't pack very well, so it felt like we were freezing the entire time. But with that being said, that part of the country is absolutely stunning. Everywhere you turn you see beautiful scenery. It was a long haul to get there, but it was worth it. I absolutely loved it, and it was so fun to be with my little family. The girls are so darling and so easy to travel with. I love my little loves.
I told Anton that if I was made of millions he would have a hard time talking me out of buying a cabin on the water here. I absolutely fell in LOVE with Whitefish. It was the most adorable charming little town (with our favorite ice cream place!) and the lake was absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to go back!
After Anton finished work meetings, we headed into Glacier for a few hours. Again, I couldn't get over how gorgeous it was. I want to go camping up there next time - they had the most darling little campground/cabins. The rivers were raging. It makes you realize how careful you have to be around that water because it was just crashing down. It was beautiful!
The next day we came back into Glacier and went the other direction. We decided to go on one of the most famous hikes, Avalanche Lake. There are signs everywhere that you are in the thick of bear country, so thank goodness we didn't come across any! It was so pretty to see the lakes, the trees and the mountains. I loves the roots of the trees that have become uprooted. It was a great hike!
We weren't able to go any further up the canyon because the road still hadn't opened for the season. But, that's ok, because I know someday we will go back. Such a great day!! I fell in love with that part of Montana.
