Dreadful Season

It is that dreadful time of year...RSV season. Poor Lilly has come down with RSV and is miserable. She started getting a cold the beginning of last week, then on Friday she sounded worse than she ever had. My gut instinct was to have the doctor see her, but I didn't want to make something out of nothing. So, I called my mom to get her opinion, and she told me I needed to call the doctor and have her seen that day. I am so glad I listened to her. Poor little thing is having a heck of a time breathing, and doesn't have much of an appetite. She has been such a trooper through her little sickness. I hope she gets feeling better soon. It breaks our hearts to see her so sick.On a good note, I made my first cake with fondant. It was so fun!! It turned out better than I thought it would, but I still need lots of practice, especially with the food coloring. I made the cake and cupcakes for my nieces birthday. I was glad I could do it. I love making these cakes!

poor thing. you are opposite of me, if Warren even thinks about sneezing, I take him in. Better safe than sorry. My pediatrician said we will see him more in the first two years that I will see my own doctor in 20 years.

Nice cake!!

Oh, I am so sorry that Lilly is sick! It is the worst when they are sick and there isn't anything you can give them. One thing that works well for my kids when they get sick is I will put them in a hot shower with me and let them breathe in the steam for a good 15-20 minutes. Also, I really like the vicks vapor plug-in's. We use those with a cool mist humidifier and it really helps the kids breathe better. I hope she feels better soon!

I love the cake! I have never used fondant, but that is a goal I have this year is to do more cake decorating!

Poor little Lilly. If you need anything at all, just call me. I can run to the store or whatever--all you have to do is say the word!

I cant believe that cake you made! Man you are going to be professional soon enough. You are really good at that. I cant even get cookies to come out right.

I hope Lilly is feeling better soon. It seems like my kids have been more sick this season than ever. Nothing big, but it's makes things a little harder. Even sick she looks beautiful. Your cake looks amazing. I can't even fathom trying to do something like that. I bet your neice loved it. I didn't think I needed a Kitchen Aid mixed because I don't bake much, but maybe I should rethink thinks.

Please keep Lily inside and around nobody until she is better! My sisters kids both have RSV and Oliver (4 weeks old) got pneumonia, and Hadley (2yrs) has some rare blood disorder, they are still trying to figure out what it is. They even threw out leukemia! WHAT THE HELL!!! And this is all the aftermath of RSV. We haven't been off to a good start this year either. We had to take Isaac to Primary's last weekend to get pumped with fluids. He had stomach flu and ear aches in both ears, plus sprouting 4 teeth! Poor guy. Then Ryan and I are just getting over something.

And yes, that cake is awesome. Way to go Liz!
