Jackson Hole / Yellowstone

We just got back from a Ballam (Antons side of the family) family trip up to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. It was so much fun! I came home realizing just how lucky I am to have married into such a great family. I love my in-laws so much, and each of them are so fun to be around...and they are funny too! I always find myself laughing when I am around them. They certainly know how to laugh at themselves, and I love that about them. And, Lilly absolutely adores her cousins. They are the best of friends when they are together. It is really fun to watch what a great time they have together. Such cute kids!
We stayed just outside of Jackson Hole in a great little place right on the Snake River. My little family loved going down to the river to throw rocks in, and we all enjoyed watching Anton throw out his shoulder in the rock skipping contest! We spent very little time in downtown Jackson, just because we felt like there were so many things we wanted to see and do. One of those was, we wanted to spend a day in Yellowstone. All Lilly cared about was seeing a Jack Rabbit (so random), and sadly we did not see a jack rabbit, but we saw plenty of buffalo, bears, elk, and bald eagles. Another day we spent running the river, and then another day in Teton Village. We had such a great time. Anton's grandparents are such wonderful people. Their generosity and their genuine interest and concern for each and every one of their family member's amazes me. I know they are some of Anton's very favorite people.
Anton had a crazy day traveling up to Jackson due to work, and then he had office visits he needed to make on our way home. Tony and Deb so graciously offered to watch the girls so I could go with Anton on his little work "trip". So, Anton and I got to spend all day Tuesday and Wednesday together. I don't think we stopped talking. It was so great to spend some time with him. And, let's be honest, it felt SO good to sleep in a comfortable hotel bed, and not have to worry about getting anyone ready for bed or worry about which child was going to wake up during the night. We went out to dinner then came back to the hotel to watch about 3 hours of the Olympics (I love the swimming)!
So, all in all, it was a wonderful vacation!
We feel so blessed to have such wonderful families! I hope Anton's family survived from all of Lilly's talking. That child....she does NOT STOP talking! Bless her little heart!!!

How Fun!!! I can not wait to get Basil up there. That video cracked me up "K, lets go!" Remember when that moose charged Ashley at Jenny Lake!? All I remember is her still toe Doc Martins :)

Okay, fine Liz. You have made me feel guilty enough that I haven't posted my pictures of the trip yet. Why can't you slack off a little and let the rest of us be lazy for a little longer? Fun trip and glad we got to spend some time with you and your family.
