Wish

So, our friends had a baby shower for cute Hollie last night. She received some darling stuff for that little Hadlee. And Brooke had the most darling idea of doing applique on plain white onesies with the most adorable fabric. Such a cute idea, I loved it! So, let me tell you something about this shower...every other gift was "Oh I made it"...usually followed by a, " and it was really easy". What?! Ugh, I am so envious of people who can create darling things. I am lacking in the whole sewing/crafting/creating/being awesome category. With that said, I am going to give my best efforts to become one of those clever people, so at the next baby shower I can say "Oh, I made that and it was super easy"! I don't even know what my first project should be. All, I know is I want to do something. So, if there are any of you out there willing to give me some pointers or have some cute ideas...please feel free to pass them on, because heaven knows I need them!

Oh, and my man came home with these last night. See, I told you he is a gem.

Liz, elastic thread is my new favorite thing and if you have a sewing machine, it's pretty easy to use. I've been making my girls little sundresses and I can get a couple done in about an hour. Check out the link:

Also, there are some fun things you can do with modge podge. I've made a few of these with empty food storage cans and they are so easy and darling. Here's the link:http://modpodgerocks.blogspot.com/2009/04/quilting-and-utensil-holder-for-kitchen.html

There are lots of inspiring craft blogs out there to give you some ideas. Have fun!

Okay, can I tell you how excited I am that I got to be one of the people that said, "I made that"?!

I know exactly how you feel though. Why do people always have to follow up with, "Oh, it was so easy. I could do it blindfolded in a coma."

It is MANDATORY that we make this craft night happen.

I think that sometimes too! but I'm a big fan of crafts when they feel simple AND useful which is why a few years ago I took up knitting. I love to crochet too though I'm a better knitter. but I have found that people take to one or the other pretty quickly; honestly in an evening you can get it down and I am not a coordinated person usually. so once you get the hang of it the possibilities are then endless once you've got the skill.

plus it's my favorite winter craft because you can do it while you sit on the couch and watch a movie. and beanies and scarves are the easiest of easy things to knit and seem so impressive to non-knitters!

I'm so glad I get to be a part of the "I made that" group too, Julie... idiots! ha ha

Ugh is right, I need so much help too! And that is why we are going to do our craft night... we will get there Lizzy! ;) And it looks like we need to invite Emily too so she can help me teach you all to knit b/c it sounds like she really does know a whole lot more than me!
